We started work on the event text logo and the initial poster concepts back in December of 2024 for a PROGAPALOOZA, a progressive rock music festival in Dallas, Texas on August 30, 2025 and hosted by Deep Ellum Art Co.
It would feature Close to the YES, Clockwork Angels (RUSH), The Led Zeppelin Project and the debut of Schizoid Men (King Crimson). A prog dream lineup all in one place. We had about 100 in attendance and everyone had a GREAT time!
I designed two different posters and then turned them both into a trickle social media campaign over the next 7 months.
I am the lead keyboardist for Close the YES tribute band playing piano, hammond and synthesizers. I also created the video backdrop filled with wild visuals, colors and other hypnotic imagery that matched the music pretty well. It was a blast!

In addition to creating all of the artwork for Close to the YES band, I also create the video backdrops that are projected behind the band for each concert that has the capability to do so.
Since we don’t play to a click track where every song completely constrained by a time clock, let alone a designated lighting person, I have tried to time the visuals to whatever music is playing. Once the footage is all place using Adobe Premiere, I add all of the audio of the entire concert set and then edit the visuals to the music. Within 6 months, I have seen an incredible evolution in my own work using AI to create video footage. It just keeps getting better and better and wilder with what kind of visuals you now can create for rock concerts.
Here is an example of single camera showing the variety of images mixed with the venues, lights, LED’s, lasers and smoke:
