I have been creating digital art using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator since 1992.
My hand skills are EQUAL to my digital skills. That is what sets me apart from most digital artists and designers. I always work my ideas out on paper in thumbnail form to see initial possibilities. Then I immediately begin the task of collecting all of my imagery and reference material to begin a digital illustration or design.
I love getting in there, adding subtle details and making it perfect. Now, with the advent of AI tools for text to image, I am able to get incredible results quickly and then manipulate them into what ever I want to create something amazing that only benefits with having decades of specialized knowledge in graphic design, drawing, painting, digital art and photo manipulation.
AI image tools have helped me tremendously in the last couple of years to create my OWN reference imagery and tweak it until it is perfect for how it needs to be used and integrated into a digital illustration.
This piece was created for OnTarget Partners. The idea was to show all 4 seasons in one image. The falling stars in the upper right hand corner represented part of the annual kickoff theme for the year before. You can’t see it but carved into the wood below the scope logo are the letters 14K, which represented the goal of generating $14,000 a day in revenue as a business.
I created multiple original digital illustrations contracted through C. Scenic for the Christmas Village annual exhibit located in the Dallas Arboretum. The idea was to create an interesting array of toys all perfectly arranged and highlighting their unique visual looks, colors and details. I was pretty much given free rein with my ideas and images. I had access to over 10,000+ digital photos that I would manipulate accordingly. Everything would get approved as it went along from the wallpaper background to the white wooden wainscoting. All in all, they loved what I came up with. It also looked amazing once you could actually walk though it.
I was contracted to create 4 original digital illustrations for a children’s book entitled “Handsome The Frog” that was written by a really good friend of mine. I created 4 conceptual illustrations to begin with so that she could shop the idea around to potential publishers.
This design was created part of an annual kickoff theme for OnTarget Partners. The idea was that when the PAC MAN character eats the dots, the ghosts all turns blue and he WINS! We created a giant backlit metal framed board that looks just like a real video game. You plug it and it lights up in FULL COLOR!
