Not only do I play keyboards in Kendall’s band “The Earth Tones”, but I also design all of his graphics, posters, album artwork etc.
When asked to create this design for him and an upcoming Christmas gig, I asked what songs would we be playing? When he mentioned Linus and Lucy and Christmastime Is Here by Vince Guaraldi, I immediately had the idea to incorporate some imagery from the Peanuts Holiday Special from 1965.
Kendall asked if I could make a Texas Santa in red boots and a red cowboy hat. This image would represent his second holiday studio track that was just recorded in time for a Christmas release.
I instantly turned to AI and using text to image, uploaded his photo and turned HIM into a Texas Santa even with Yellow Roses on the belt buckle and cowboy boots!
The angle looking slightly down was perfect to put him on the Peanuts stage from the XMAS special showing all of them dancing their unique dances. Even the zombie kid!
I had to add Charlie Brown and Lucy in the only happy scene I have ever seen with the two of them actually smiling and hugging, which connected the first studio track “Giving Thanks” to the poster and the upcoming performance.
I’ve always loved Christmas lights ever since I was little kid. There was something just magical about the colors and the twinkling on a Christmas tree at night. So, I had to add realistic looking Christmas lights to the border of the poster frame to complete the digital composite illustration.
